　　“U2”是愛爾蘭藉超級搖滾樂團，
他們先後推出過八張專輯唱片，並在大
西洋兩岸舉辦過多場大型演唱會，都造
成了很大的轟動。本片是U2在美國巡迴
演唱期間拍攝完成的演唱會紀錄片，製
作目的是想讓觀眾來瞭解U2如何工作、
如何創作歌曲？以及他們對音樂所付出
的感情。為本片掌鏡的攝影師，是拍過
《2010》的喬丹．洛奈威斯，導演是拍
過《午後三點的決鬥》的新銳菲爾．喬
諾德，影片前半部用黑白片拍攝，後半
部則為彩色。

　　《Rattle and hum》（1988），一張比
較完美的現場專輯,收錄幾乎整個U2早期
的名曲，而且其現場演唱作品與錄音室
作品相比，更能烘托出一些現場獨有的
激情和熱烈。在“I still haven't found what
 I'm looking for”裡加入的R&B黑人女歌
手的和聲，以及把“With or without you”
連唱，似乎這些小花招更適合美國聽眾
的口味。可惜這張專輯及電影在美國銷
售並不成功.但我們也能隱約嗅到“市場
決定一切”的U2心聲了。

This film documents the 1987 North
American tour of the great rock band, U2.
Fresh with their success of their best selling
album, The Joshua Tree, the band plays
monster gigs. Along the way, the band takes
 the opportunity in indulge in some special
musical activities like playing with BB King
 and performing "I Still Haven't Found What
 I'm Looking" with a famous church choir.
All the while, concert footage of the band's
biggest hits on tour is featured while Bono
speaks his mind on the problems of his
homeland.
